STAND UP & PITCH

Stand Up & Pitch

WRITERS! CREATORS! COMICS!

Submissions are now closed.

Selected projects will have 5 minutes to pitch live on stage to a panel of seasoned comedy executives and receive unprecedented access as well as invaluable professional feedback.

And, just announced!, for Canadian participants only, the CBC is back again with the CBC Comedy Pitch Program where a total of five (5) projects, drawn from all submitted work, will be selected to pitch directly to CBC executives and members of the Canadian creative community!

Our esteemed panel will award the creator of one top project the unique opportunity to receive one-on-one development guidance post-festival to help bring the project to the next level. The top project will also receive 2 (Two) Industry Passes to return to ComedyPRO in 2024 (an approximate $1500 USD value)

For Stand Up & Pitch, the ‘Mentor’ who wil be doing this One-On-One development guidance is Anthony Q. Farrell.

In the context of the ongoing labor dispute between the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), Just for Laughs ComedyPRO would like to clarify the following:
Stand Up & Pitch, presented by Project 10 Productions
The Stand Up & Pitch Showcase is a live presentation designed to provide participants and audience members with an inside look at the process of pitching and to learn best practices from a panel of experts for professional development purposes. Executives participating on the panel will be providing invaluable feedback and mentorship opportunities to those selected to present, drawing from their career experience irrespective of their brand or company. If you are participating in Stand Up & Pitch, we encourage you to abide by the guidelines of any union or guild affiliations you may have.

I can honestly say that pitching our Bhalla project there was a life-changing event. First, the fact that we even got a chance to present our project brought so much confidence and legitimacy to our project. The networking aspect was so key in building proper relationships with broadcasting partners.
