NEW FACES 2022

The New Faces of Comedy showcases have catapulted the careers of so many of today’s most celebrated comedians. For over twenty years, it has been an unmissable part of our Montreal Festival, giving the most promising undiscovered talent an exclusive platform to launch their careers. This has resulted in the New Faces of Comedy series being the most impactful comedy showcase in the world.

New Faces will be announced Monday July 25.

One of the biggest events in the comedy world each year is Variety’s unveiling of their annual “10 Comics To Watch” feature. Catch the best and brightest at the Festival and let them show you why they made the 2022 list. Variety will host a panel and evening showcase with some of this year’s chosen comics. The 2022 cohort of artists panel will feature: Rosebud Baker, Vanessa Gonzalez, J.R. De Guzman, Jay Jurden, Matteo Lane, Atsuko Okatsuka, Blair Socci, Moses Storm and Sheng Wang. High-powered teams of comedy executives will offer their invaluable insight to a curated selection of new projects, aimed at broadcast and streaming audiences. Come watch tomorrow's top creators and today's tv veterans put comedy development into action live on stage.

CBC PRESENTS CBC COMEDY ORIGINALS PITCH

The CBC returns this year as host of the ever-popular CBC Comedy Pitch Program, showcasing a homegrown selection of exciting new, scripted, animated and unscripted work. CBC Executives will be joined on stage by an all-star lineup of talent hailing from some of the CBC’s most beloved shows, to hear project pitches from this new crop of Canada’s most noteworthy rising comedy creators.

EAT MY SHORTS 2022

Just For Laughs' annual short film competition, Eat My Shorts, is back! The funniest shorts this year include bizarre food attachments, crime and sci-fi comedies, living through Covid times, unique relationships and everything in between! The top comedic short films from around the world will be screened at the 2022 edition of the Just For Laughs festival, and the winners will be selected at the end of the screening for the top three prizes.

15 Minutes With A Power Broker, presented with the participation of the Independent Production Fund, offers an exclusive, networking opportunity to our professional delegates, providing unprecedented access to the comedy industry’s leading executives attending Just For Laughs ComedyPRO. Members of our creative community may schedule up to three, one-on-one meetings, of 15 minutes each, to learn about executives and their companies while making personal connections for future follow-up.
