The JFL Pilots program, presented by Just For Laughs in partnership with Will Arnett's Electric Avenue, is a global discovery channel for emerging comedic storytellers, showcasing outstanding 30-minute original pilots from around the world.
The program shines a spotlight on some of the boldest, sharpest, and most original comedic voices in television comedy writing today, offering a curated mix of live-action, animated, scripted, and unscripted films. From original pilots with strong series potential to distinctive new comedic perspectives, JFL Pilots celebrates comedy in all its forms while introducing fresh creative voices to the ComedyPRO industry audience.
Each screening will feature the creators, with one pilot receiving special recognition in the selection, as well as audience choice recognition.

As a director, her credits include Girls5Eva, Survival of the Thickest, Ghosts, Up Here, Welcome to Flatch, The Muppets Mayhem, Going Dutch, The Baby-Sitters Club, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Single Drunk Female, Sesame Street, and The Big Leap.
Her feature debut, Good on Paper, starring Iliza Shlesinger, premiered in Netflix’s Top 10 in 2021. She will next direct Descendants: Wicked Wonderland for Disney+.

Brendan Halloran
Writer
Brendan Halloran is a writer, producer, and showrunner whose career spans both scripted and unscripted comedy. He is the creator and showrunner of JFL Pilots 2025 Finalist Dying Seconds, a sharp and irreverent scripted comedy series.
Brendan is also an executive producer and writer for the cult favorite, Space Janitors, for which he won the WGC Screenwriting Award for short form comedy in 2025. Throughout his career, Brendan has written and produced comedic content across many major sports networks including Fox Sports, TSN, and Rogers Sportsnet.

She has written for, and performed on, multiple seasons of award winning comedy series' including: Sort Of, A Little Late with Lilly Singh, Jann, Odd Squad, Tall Boyz, The Beaverton, and Baroness Von Sketch Show. She was a Writer and Producer for all 3 seasons of Run The Burbs and became its Co-Showrunner in its finale season. She most recently served as Co-Showrunner on season 3 of Late Bloomer.
In 2021, she earned a Canadian Screen Award for Best Writing, Variety or Sketch Comedy for Baroness. In 2022, she was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award as a Best Supporting Actor on a Web Series for her performance in Avocado Toast. For her work on the premier season of Sort Of, Nelu received a Writer’s Guild of Canada nomination for her script, in addition to a prestigious Peabody Award for her contribution.
