Born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, Paul Telner is one of YouTube’s OG pranksters known for his viral videos which garnered millions of views and caught the attention of ABC’s The View, cable network G4, MTV, GQ Magazine and even Jack Black.
With his early viral success, Paul’s next adventure was starring in and producing his own reality comedy late night show pilot for Canada’s CBC, which lead to the creation of popular characters Dave: The Friendly Goth and Fibre Man. Paul then caught the attention of Canada’s main youth network MuchMusic. He starred in and executive produced comedy specials for MuchMusic called THE PAUL TELNER PROJECT. Paul also became a personality for the network, appearing daily on their flagship program MuchOnDemand
Going international, Paul starred in and produced a scripted comedy project filmed in Bangladesh called GOOD MORNING BANGLADESH.
After being on camera for years, Paul decided to step behind the scenes and started his unscripted development career at Montreal-based, Emmy Award-winning Galafilm. It was there that Paul was recognized as a Ford 2012 Quebec Notable Awards nominee for Producer of the Year.
After honing his unscripted content chops in Canada, Paul moved down to LA and for five years served as the Director of Unscripted development at Studio71, one of the largest digital studios in the world. Paul helped create, sell and produce multiple digital and television projects for buyers such as Facebook Watch (The Text Committee, I Want My Stuff Back, What Just Happened!? etc.), YouTube Red (Emmy nominated Roman Atwood’s Day Dreams), Food Network US (Made from Scratch), truTV (The Kloons) Google (produced the first ever Super Bowl half-time show for YouTube), MTV, TLC, A&E and many more. Along with developing original content, Paul has worked closely with top digital and traditional stars including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Logan Paul, Roman Atwood, Matthew Santoro, Epic Meal Time, Lilly Singh, comedian J.B. Smoove, Macy Gray and many more.
In 2018, Paul moved to back to Canada and took on his new role as creative director for Vancouver based BroadbandTV, which duties include developing original series as well as branded entertainment initiatives. Paul works closely with BBTV’s roster of digital creators, helping them create content for YouTube and other platforms.
Paul is a frequent contributor on creative panels and was a speaker at the 2018 Adobe XD Creative Jam in New York City.
