President/CEO – Pygmy Wolf Productions, Ltd.
Emmy Award-winning writer/producer, K.P. Anderson is having a great year. With his company Pygmy Wolf Productions in an overall development deal with Lionsgate Television, K.P. and Pygmy Wolf have been cranking out shows starring some of the biggest names in comedy. “The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale” on Netflix kicked off 2018 with 13 weekly episodes streaming worldwide and another 6 episodes are scheduled to premiere as a binge watch for the streaming giant in mid-July. Also for Netflix, K.P. and Pygmy Wolf have produced 10 episodes of “Norm Macdonald Has a Show” scheduled to stream later this year. In addition, K.P. and Pygmy Wolf Produced the viral sensation “Kevin Hart: Lyft Legend” for Kevin’s Laugh Out Loud streaming comedy service. In its second season, the hidden camera show features the box office sensation in a full prosthetic and undercover as his cranky character Donald Mac driving a car for the Lyft ride sharing service. With those three shows as executive producer under his belt, K.P. is turning Pygmy Wolf’s focus toward it’s development slate with sketch and animated comedy projects heading out to market as well as more comedy driven talk and game shows on the way. Pygmy Wolf is continuing to solidify itself as a force in the TV comedy marketplace.
K.P. is probably best known for his time as Executive Producer and Head Writer of E!’s hit pop culture series “The Soup” – a position he held for 11 years before the show ended its impressive run. During that time, K.P. also developed and executive produced several series, including BBC America’s “The Nerdist,” Nickelodeon’s “You Gotta See This,” Style Network’s “The Dish,” G4’s “Web Soup” and Versus’ “Sports Soup.” Through his Pygmy Wolf Productions (a company he named after his late cocker spaniel, who was small but fierce) banner, he also developed and executive produced E!’s “The Comment Section” and “The Soup Investigates,” as well as developed comedy/variety series for NBC, E!, The CW and TBS. The success of “The Soup” franchise and birth of Pygmy Wolf Productions was another chapter in K.P.’s career that has included writing and producing stints on such shows as, “Politically Incorrect,” “Last Comic Standing,” “The Keenan Ivory Wayans Show” and “Mohr Sports.” Showing his true range, K.P. has also written for the 2014 White House Correspondents Dinner, the ESPY’s, The Independent Spirit Awards and Fox NFL Sunday. As a standup comic, he has appeared on numerous shows, as well as performed at Carnegie Hall and countless comedy festivals including the famous “Just for Laughs” festival in Montreal. K.P. lives in Toluca Lake, California with his wife and daughter both of whom still like him, he’s told.
