Jeff Singer is the head talent scout in the U.S. for the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.
For nearly 20 years he has searched talent for the renowned JFL New Faces franchise where up and coming comedians get their first big breaks in comedy.
From Portland to Dallas, Denver to Boston, Minneapolis to Cleveland, he has showcased comics at clubs and festivals across the country.
He is featured in the Amazon Prime documentary series “Inside Jokes”, about the inner workings of JFL’s New Faces and the journey comic hopefuls take to land a coveted spot at the career-launching Festival in Montreal.
Jeff has also served as a judge at many stand-up competitions including Funniest Person in Austin, Atlanta’s Laughing Skull Festival and the Seattle Comedy Competition.
He spent the early part of his career producing his own live comedy shows in music venues, theaters and casino showrooms. Notable productions include “Comedy You Can’t Refuse” hosted by Michael Imperioli and Steven Schirripa from “The Sopranos”; and “Reading It” featuring humorous writers such as Amy Sedaris, Jonathan Ames, Candace Bushnell, David Rakoff and Sarah Vowell.
Additionally he is a TV producer/writer with numerous credits including Comedy Network’s “JFL: All Access” and “The Stand Up Show”; the CW’s “Relationships: Just For Laughs; Fuse TV’s “Uproarious”; and Showtime’s “The Nasty Show”.
Born and raised in Montreal, Jeff spent over a decade living in New York and currently resides in Los Angeles. He likes cats and hats.
