Finalists Revealed for Just For Laughs’ Eat My Shorts!

This year’s short film finalists will be screened at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal

Montréal, July 2, 2019Just For Laughs ComedyPRO is excited to share the titles of the 13 finalists slated for this year’s Just For Laughs Eat My Shorts, a competition in search of the funniest short films.

Just For Laughs has been searching for the funniest short films from every corner of the world to showcase at this year’s Just For Laughs Eat My Shorts. Having grown to a record-breaking 1,500+ submissions, this summer’s collection of finalists range from mockumentaries to edgy comedies, parodies to animation, and everything else in between. The Just For Laughs Eat My Shorts screening will take place on Friday, July 26 at 7:00pm at the Phi Centre in Montreal.

In alphabetical order, the 13 short films selected are:

  • Love After Anne – Darrin Rose (Director)
  • Pig – Evan Powers (Director)
  • Sorry, Not Sorry – Monique Sorgen (Director)
  • Weird Shit – Larissa Pruett (Director) Nathan Trumball (Director)
  • Zoo Animals – Francisco Ramos (Director)

 

“We received an extraordinary amount of really funny, clever and witty films from across the world and had a really difficult time choosing our finalists”, shares Tony Wosk, Film Programmer for Just For Laughs. “All of the filmmakers submitting should be incredibly proud of their work and we wish we could have included more.”

After the screening of all 13 films, the winning 3 films will be chosen by a group of jurors, including American High founder and president, Jeremy Garelick.

The third prize winner will be awarded $250; second prize will receive $500, and the winner will take home the $1,000 grand prize!!!
