Vice President, Comedy Development & Programming, FOX Entertainment 

Roberto Alcantara is Vice President, Comedy Development & Programming, for FOX Entertainment. In this role, he oversees the development and production for the network’s comedy slate, including the upcoming multi-camera family comedy, OUTMATCHED, talk/comedy program WHAT JUST HAPPENED??! WITH FRED SAVAGE, animated comedies BLESS THE HARTS, DUNCANVILLE and THE GREAT NORTH, and current hits LAST MAN STANDING and THE SIMPSONS.

Alcantara joined FOX in 2017 from Toronto-based Project 10, where he was Vice President of Content and headed up the company’s U.S. operations and strategy to develop and produce original programming and global formats. Before that, Alcantara executive produced the acclaimed feature documentary “Accidental Courtesy: Daryl Davis, Race & America,” which won the Special Jury Award in the Documentary Feature category at SXSW in 2016 and subsequently was licensed to PBS’ “Independent Lens” and Netflix.

From 2014 to 2015, he was Vice President, Primetime Scripted, for marblemedia in Los Angeles. While there, he oversaw the company’s entrance into the U.S. market and developed projects with “Orphan Black” Co-Executive Producer Karen Walton and Cirque du Soleil. Prior to marblemedia, Alcantara was Manager of Develop for Momentum TV. There, he led the development of Audience Network’s Neil LaBute drama, “Full Circle,” starring Eric McCormack, David Crane, Calista Flockhart and Stacy Keach. He also developed Audience Network’s “Rogue,” starring Thandie Newton, Cole Hauser and Richard Schiff.

A graduate of Columbia College Chicago, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Television & Film, Alcantara began his career producing commercials before re-locating to Los Angeles to work at CAA.
