Senior Manager, Comedy Development, ABC Studios
New Jersey native Emily Rothstein first began working for ABC Studios as an intern from the University of Southern California. In her nine years at the studio, she has worked in both drama and comedy development, assisting the drama team in the development of such series as “American Crime,” “How to Get Away with Murder,” and “Quantico” and the comedy team on “The Muppets” “American Housewife” and “Single Parents”. She is currently a senior manager of comedy development. Other recent projects include the pilot “Unt. Jessica Gao Project”, “Unt. Leslie Odom Jr Project” and the pilot “Fourfathers” which is under consideration for a series pickup on the soon to be launched platform, Disney +. Additionally she has been responsible for bringing in new voices to the studio, most recently developing with Tessa Coates, a comedian from the UK who, after a successful show at the Edinburgh festival, was sought after by almost every studio and network in town. She has a bachelor of arts degree in cinematic arts from USC and makes her home in the Studio City area of Los Angeles.
