VP, Programming, HBO

Ben Wasserstein is vice president, HBO Programming for Home Box Office, Inc., responsible for helping develop and supervise production of comedy series. Among the series he has overseen are Barry, Divorce, Los Espookys, Sally4Ever, and the upcoming Avenue 5 from Armando Iannucci and QualityLand from Mike Judge & Josh Lieb. He was named to this position in July 2016.
Prior to joining HBO, Wasserstein served as vice president, Development, at Fair Harbor Productions, which he joined in 2009 as director, Development. His achievements there include developing comedies and dramas for HBO and other cable networks, including the SundanceTV drama The Red Road, on which he served as associate producer, and he has also worked on the HBO series and film Looking, on which he served as associate producer, and on HBO’s Bored To Death. Before Fair Harbor, he was an editor at The New Republic and New York; his writing has appeared in Bloomberg Businessweek, Slate and the Los Angeles Times. He began his career as an assistant at CAA.

Wasserstein holds a B.A. in Social Studies from Harvard College.
