Sophie Duker

Sophie Duker

Sophie Duker is a hysterical, intellectual new comedy voice who “rips through sex and race with relish”(Sunday Times). Not only is she a critically acclaimed stand-up, in 2021 she took home the Funny Women Best Comedy Writer Award, as voted by producers, head writers and industry executives.

Her first stand-up hour, Venus, saw her nominated for the Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe. It gained five-star reviews and a sell-out run, resulting in another sold out two-week run at London’s Soho Theatre. Sophie will debut her hotly anticipated second hour, Hag, at the 2022 Fringe, to be followed by a UK tour in 2023.

Sophie is a regular guest on Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC2). She has appeared on Live at The Apollo (BBC2), Mock the Week (BBC2), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (C4) and Hypothetical (Dave). In summer 2022, Sophie won the most recent series of Taskmaster (C4).

She can also be seen in Riot Girls (C4), Quickies (BBC3) and Roast Battle (Comedy Central). Sophie hosts the official companion podcasts to both Michaela Coel’s I May Destroy You and Dolly Alderton’s Everything I Know About Love (BBC).
