Executive Vice President, Talent and Development, West Coast

Jonas Larsen, a native of Denmark, is Comedy Central’s Executive Vice President, Talent and Development, West Coast. He reports to Kent Alterman, President of Comedy Central, and is based in the company’s Hollywood office. Larsen is responsible for Comedy Central’s Los Angeles-based talent and development team in its effort to identify and develop talent for all west coast-based pilots and original series.

Larsen joined Comedy Central in 2010 as Senior Vice President, Talent and Special, overseeing the production and development of original specials and tentpole events such as the Emmy®-nominated Comedy Central Roast franchise, which includes the recent smash-hit Roasts of Rob Lowe, Justin Bieber, James Franco, and Charlie Sheen; all stand-up programming for the brand including Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle, The Half Hour, This Is Not Happening and the upcoming Comedy Jam; as well as the docu-comedy specials such as the Peabody Award-winning DL Hughley: The Endangered List, critically acclaimed specials from Jeff Ross, Jeff Ross Roasts Cops and Jeff Ross Roasts Prisoners: Live at Brazos County Jail and a forthcoming untitled comedy documentary series created with Another Period and Drunk History executive producer and director Jeremy Konner. Prior to joining Comedy Central in 2010, Larsen was an Executive Producer of non-scripted television, and formed his own production company, Y27 Entertainment, developing 1 vs. 100 for NBC and executive producing the studio-based competition series Master of Champions for ABC. Prior to that, working with Stone Stanley Entertainment, Larsen produced The Joe Schmo Show for Spike TV, which became a breakout hit and was at the time Spike TV’s highest rated non-scripted original program.
