Actress/Comedian/Writer Edi Patterson is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most sought after talents. She currently co-stars in HBO’s critically acclaimed dark comedy, Vice Principals, opposite Danny McBride and Walton Goggins. Vice Principals tells the story of two assistant principals (McBride, Goggins) who are in an epic power struggle for the top spot of school Principal, which is told over the course of a single school year (Season one being fall semester and Season two, spring semester). Patterson plays a promiscuously aggressive civics teacher named Jen Abbott, who lusts after Neal Gamby (McBride). The second and final season of Vice Principals will premiere September 17th.
This summer, Patterson beings production on Tracy Morgan’s new TBS series, The Last O.G. The series will follow Tray (Morgan), an ex-con who is shocked to see just how much the world has changed after serving a 15 year prison sentence. The comedy is set to premiere later this year.
Patterson is also a current member of the Main Company at The Groundlings, a world-famous sketch comedy and improv troupe that boasts such alumni as Will Ferrell, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Lisa Kudrow, Will Forte, and many more. Edi performs at the Groundlings every Thursday night in the Cookin’ With Gas improv show in addition to regular appearances in the Main Stage show. She is also a Main Company member at Impro Theatre, where she performs fully improvised, full-length plays.
Patterson’s other television credits include Black-ish, Partners, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Bajillion Dollar Properties, The League, Two Broke Girls, Weeds, and Californication. She’s also been a guest writer for Saturday Night Live, as well as performed voices for the Cartoon Network animated series We Bare Bears and Adult Swim’s The Mike Tyson Mysteries.
A Texas native, Patterson currently resides in Los Angeles.
