Just For Laughs Announces Its New Faces of 2017

Montreal, QC [July 24, 2017] – Just For Laughs is proud to unveil the line-up for the 2017 Just For Laughs New Faces, a highlight of the Just For Laughs experience since 1996. This year the prestigious series welcomes the next wave of comedy talent with FOUR showcases — New Faces of Comedy, New Faces: Characters, New Faces: Unrepped — and NEW this year, New Faces: Creators.

“For more than 20 years, the New Faces showcase at Just For Laughs has served as the launch pad for many of the biggest and most recognizable names in comedy,” says Bruce Hills, COO of the Just For Laughs Group. “We couldn’t be more proud to offer comedians this phenomenal showcase opportunity in front of some of the most important and influential people in the comedy business.”

A short list of talent who have launched their careers via New Faces includes a who’s who of the business: Jimmy Fallon (1996), Gabriel Iglesias (1999), Kevin Hart (2001), Hannibal Buress (2006), Amy Schumer (2007), Chris D’Elia (2009), Jerrod Carmichael (2011), Ali Wong (2011), The Lucas Brothers (2012), Pete Davidson (2013) and Hasan Minhaj (2014) to name a few.

New Faces: Creators, a salute to up-and-coming digital content creators and influencers, takes place Thursday, July 27 at 1:45 pm in the Grand Salon Opera, Hyatt Regency Montreal. It is hosted by Shira Lazar, Co-Founder/CEO and host of the Emmy-nominated live interactive daily show and Millenial media brand, What’s Trending.
